Building a Comprehensive Fintech Platform for Financial Management

A unified system for managing financial assets and data is an important point in the modern fintech landscape. This is the core idea behind this project: to create a centralized platform where users can access and understand their financial information in one place.

Our European client is a large financial institution that manages a wide portfolio of financial services, including pension funds, credit institutions, and various investment tools. The organization oversees numerous companies, some of which are small-to-medium-sized enterprises, and requires a unified digital solution to aggregate data across its ecosystem. The existing platform no longer meets their needs, calling for the development of an entirely new system.

In this article, we are sharing how Agiliway partnered with the client to help them advance their existing solution and build new additions so that their vision was brought to life.

The scope of tasks and challenges

This project came with a mix of technical and planning challenges that required careful planning, flexible development, and secure infrastructure. Among the major ones were the following:

  • The project involved building a completely new platform to replace the outdated system.
  • The platform needed to integrate complex data from multiple internal and external financial institutions.
  • Present the developed solution in an intuitive, user-friendly interface.
  • Another challenge was to create a separate system for publishing articles, events, and financial knowledge-sharing. This system needed to be tightly integrated with the main application, yet secure and isolated from public access to protect sensitive data.
  • Because of the sensitive nature of the data, especially in the content system, everything had to be well-protected and restricted to trusted users only.
  • An additional component of the project involved planning for an AI-based chatbot designed not only to answer questions but to guide users through setting up financial goals, e.g., monthly savings.

Suggested solutions

To address the challenges, the Agiliway development team performed the following to move the project forward:

  • Built a new platform from scratch to replace the old one, fully customized for the client’s needs.
  • Handled all the front-end development, focusing on user experience, visual design, and clear dashboards with dynamic charts and simulations.
  • Added support for data imports from both the client’s own services and external companies, so users could see all their financial info, e.g., loans, pensions, savings, etc., in one place.
  • Developed a separate CMS using Next.js to manage content like articles and events, integrated smoothly with the main platform.
  • Secured the CMS by running it in isolated containers and requiring VPN access to keep sensitive info protected.

Value Delivered

The new platform gives users a clearer approach to how they can manage all their financial information in one place. With interactive dashboards and visual tools, it helped people make smarter decisions about things like savings, loans, and pensions.

For the client, the system’s flexible design made it easy to grow and add new features over time. Sensitive data is kept safe through strong security measures, like containerized apps and VPN access. Separating the content system also made it easier to manage both financial services and educational materials without mixing the two.

The Agiliway development team also started working on the integration of an AI-based chatbot for personalized financial advice, which is a great step toward making the platform even more advanced and user-centric.
